Lebanon: Number of injured in Israeli occupation aggression rises to 12,219

Beirut, July 12 (KUNA) -- Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced on Sunday that the number of wounded in the Israeli occupation’s aggression against Lebanon has risen to 12,219. The ministry’s daily report, issued by its Health Emergency Operations Center, stated that the cumulative total of casualties from the aggression since March 2 amounts to 4,322 killed and 12,219 wounded.

In a related development, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli occupation army shelled the entrance of the town of Zouit al-Sharqiya with artillery, accompanied by intensive sweeps using machine guns. It also shelled the town of Kafr Kinnia and blew up several houses in the town of Majdal Zoun and the city of Bint Jbeil.

Since March 2, Lebanon has witnessed a wide-scale military escalation and violent air raids, resulting in thousands of killed and wounded, widespread destruction, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people.

The attacks continue despite Lebanon signing a tripartite framework agreement with the United States and the Israeli occupation at the conclusion of a fifth round of Lebanese-Israeli talks, mediated by the United States, in Washington. (End) A.Y.B./T.A.B.
