Tunisia's tourism revenues grow to $1.1 billion in the first half of 2026

Tunis, July 11 (KUNA) -- Official data showed on Saturday that tourism revenues in Tunisia recorded a growth of 4.4 percent in the first half of this year, reaching more than $1.1 billion compared to the same period in 2025. The Central Bank of Tunisia stated in a statement that these positive indicators reflect the momentum witnessed by the Tunisian tourism sector and its ability to support the country’s foreign currency reserves during the first half of the year. Observers say the growth in tourism revenues is due to the resilience of Tunisia as a tourist destination and its competitiveness, alongside the effectiveness of promotional campaigns targeting both traditional and emerging, promising markets. With the tourism sector entering its peak summer season, Tunisia aims to surpass the threshold of 12 million tourists in 2026, after achieving a record high in 2025 with more than 11 million visitors.
