Egypt and UAE Foreign Ministers Discuss Maritime Security and Developments in Gaza and Lebanon

Cairo, July 11 (KUNA) -- Egypt and the United Arab Emirates discussed a number of regional files of mutual interest today, Saturday, foremost among them navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that this came during a phone call between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as part of the continuous consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries regarding bilateral relations and regional developments. The statement said the call underscored the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on various regional issues, which supports security and stability in the region. The discussions also covered developments related to the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States and Iran, with Minister Abdelatty emphasizing the importance of building on this track to contribute to reducing tensions and enhancing regional security and stability. He stressed the necessity of taking into account the security concerns of the Gulf Arab countries, considering their security and stability an integral part of the Arab national security system. Regarding relations between Egypt and the UAE, the two ministers praised the continuous development and momentum witnessed in bilateral ties across various fields, under the directives of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They highlighted that the strategic partnership reflects a unique character and a shared commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples.
