Egypt and Qatar stress the importance of containing tensions and preventing the conflict from escalating

Cairo, July 10 (KUNA) -- Egypt and Qatar stressed today, Friday, the importance of containing tensions and preventing the conflict in the region from escalating. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release that this came during a phone call between Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as part of the continuous communication and coordination between the two brotherly countries. The ministers urged all parties to prioritize diplomacy and dialogue, and to return to the negotiating table to work on implementing the memorandum of understanding signed between the American and Iranian sides, paving the way for a final agreement between the two parties, thereby contributing to de-escalation and enhancing regional security and stability. For his part, Minister Abdelatty reiterated his condemnation of the recent attacks on several Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan, and emphasized the necessity of respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of these brotherly countries and other Arab Gulf states.
