Kuwait City, July 10 (KUNA) -- July 10:
1964 - Kuwaiti Deputy Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a law establishing the Court of Audit as an independent financial oversight body, attached to the National Assembly, to achieve effective supervision of public funds by exercising the powers granted to it by law.
1965 - Kuwait and Saudi Arabia sign an agreement on the division of the Neutral Zone and agree to regulate and exercise rights and manage the exploitation of natural resources of all kinds in the entire divided area.
1969 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah issues a law regulating commercial establishment licenses, stipulating that no facility or office may be opened or owned for the purpose of engaging in trade or practicing a profession or craft without obtaining a license from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
1973 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah issues an emiri decree reorganizing the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research to advance scientific and applied research in the fields of industry, oil, and food, and attaches it to the Council of Ministers.
1976 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah issues a law approving the establishment of the Arab Company for Petroleum Services, which was signed in Kuwait by the governments of member states of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) on May 4, 1975.
1980 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a law approving Kuwait’s accession to the Convention establishing the Standing Committee for Communications of the Arabian Gulf Region.
1984 - Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issues a law concerning Personal Status, covering marriage, divorce by unilateral repudiation, paternity claims, breastfeeding rights, custody, maintenance of relatives, guardianship over oneself, wills, inheritance, and radd (return of surplus inheritance).
2012 - The national judo team wins first place in the West Asian Judo Championship organized by the International and West Asian Judo Federations in Jordan.
2017 - Kuwait, represented by Dr. Mohammed Hamdan Al-Mutairi, President of the Kuwait Medical Association, wins the position of President of the Supreme Council of the Arab Doctors Union by acclamation.
2022 - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognizes the Kuwaiti Sadu Cooperative Society as a non-governmental advisory organization during the ninth session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
