UAE reaffirms solidarity with Syria and supports its security measures against ISIS cells

Abu Dhabi, July 9 (KUNA) -- The United Arab Emirates expressed its full solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic and its support for the measures taken by the Syrian security apparatus to dismantle cells affiliated with the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization, which were involved in assassination, looting, and financing of the group, and to arrest one of its prominent leaders and several of its members. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the UAE reaffirms its full support for all measures taken by Syria to protect its security and sovereignty, maintain its stability and the safety of its citizens and residents, and safeguard its national achievements, commending the competence and vigilance of the Syrian security forces, which succeeded in apprehending these cells and exposing their members. The ministry stressed the UAE’s firm rejection of all forms of terrorism and extremism, and of anything that could undermine the security and stability of states, emphasizing the importance of enhancing regional and international cooperation to confront and counter these threats.
