Omani and Iranian Foreign Ministers Emphasize the Necessity of Halting Military Escalation in the Region
Muscat, July 9 (KUNA) -- Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi stressed on Thursday the necessity of halting military escalation in the region and working toward crafting peaceful political solutions that take into account the interests of all parties. The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that this came during a telephone call between the two sides, during which current regional developments were discussed. The statement added that both sides emphasized the importance of working to achieve de-escalation and develop peaceful political solutions “that guarantee freedom of navigation and the smooth flow of commercial shipping and energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.” (End) M.J.B./H.M.F.
