Arab League condemns landing of Iranian plane at Sana'a International Airport

Cairo, July 9 (KUNA) -- The Arab League expressed its strong condemnation on Thursday of the landing of an Iranian aircraft at Sanaa International Airport a few days ago, amid escalating regional tensions and serious challenges surrounding security and stability. The spokesperson for the League’s Secretary-General said in a statement that the plane’s landing without prior coordination with the internationally recognized Yemeni government constituted a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a clear breach of international law. The statement reaffirmed the Arab League’s steadfast position supporting the sovereignty and independence of Arab states, its full solidarity with the Yemeni Republic, both its leadership and people, and its backing of the measures taken by Yemen to safeguard its sovereignty, preserve its national security, and maintain its territorial integrity.
