Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Latest Regional Developments with Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence

Doha, July 6 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today, Monday, with Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence, Helen McEntee, to discuss the latest regional developments. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting took place during the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister’s reception of the Irish minister in the Qatari capital, Doha. It added that the discussion reviewed the cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, and addressed the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts to enhance security and stability in the region following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, as well as a number of other issues of mutual interest. The ministry noted that following the talks, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of political consultations between the Qatari and Irish ministries of foreign affairs. The memorandum was signed on the Qatari side by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan al-Murikh, and on the Irish side by McEntee. (End) S S S / M K
