Egyptian Foreign Minister Condemns Continued Israeli Occupation Violations in the West Bank

Cairo, July 4 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty condemned the ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation in the West Bank, including repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, expressing firm rejection of annexation and settlement policies as blatant violations of international law and a undermining of the prospects for a two-state solution.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Saturday that these remarks were made during a phone call between Foreign Minister Abdelatty and Palestinian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Mustafa, as part of continuous consultation and coordination between the two sides.

The statement noted that both sides reaffirmed the deep historical and fraternal ties between Egypt and Palestine, and their commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation to support the Palestinian Government and enable it to fulfill its responsibilities.

It added that the two sides also exchanged views on developments in the Gaza Strip, where the Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of completing the implementation of the first-phase commitments of the US President’s plan, which would contribute to ensuring full access for humanitarian aid and creating conditions for transitioning to subsequent stages, leading to early recovery and reconstruction. He stressed the importance of empowering the Palestinian National Authority to carry out its responsibilities in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The call also covered, according to the statement, preparations for the donor conference scheduled to be held in Brussels in July, where Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the Palestinian Government and the importance of mobilizing international financial support for the Palestinian National Authority, enabling it to meet its obligations and provide essential services to its people, thereby strengthening resilience and supporting stability in the Palestinian territories.
