Riyadh, March 7 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Al-Budaiwi said on Friday that the emergency briefing delivered by Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani before the United Nations Security Council regarding the Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia reflects Bahrain’s commitment to diplomatic and legal channels and to informing the international community about the severity of these attacks and their repercussions on regional security and stability.
Al-Budaiwi clarified in a statement that the briefing, which presented an overview of the facts and the humanitarian and security consequences of the Iranian attacks, underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain’s approach based on respect for the rules of international law and the UN Charter, as well as its dedication to addressing challenges through international institutions, thereby contributing to the enhancement of regional and global security and peace.
He reaffirmed the GCC’s full solidarity with and support for all measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to protect its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasizing that the security of all GCC member states is indivisible and that any attack targeting one member state constitutes an attack on all of them.
Al-Budaiwi called on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security and to adopt a firm stance against these attacks, ensuring the cessation of actions threatening regional security, respect for the principles of international law and the UN Charter, and the strengthening of regional and global security and stability.
