Cairo, July 3 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed today, Friday, the importance of unifying national institutions and reaching a comprehensive political settlement through a Libyan-Libyan process that paves the way for presidential and parliamentary elections to be held simultaneously in Libya at the earliest possible time. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release that this came during a phone call with Mohamed Sagem, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, to discuss developments and recent updates on the Libyan crisis. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position supporting Libya’s unity and stability, and also listened to Sagem’s ideas and proposals on ways to resolve the situation in Libya through a Libyan-led solution within the framework of US efforts to bring the Libyan parties closer together.
