Amid the ongoing terrorist attacks by the Iran-aligned Houthi militia on civilian infrastructure, vital facilities, and residential sites inside and outside Yemen, the Saudi Ministry of Energy announced today that a building belonging to Aramco in Riyadh was targeted. This came in tandem with confirmation from the Coalition for Legitimacy Support that it intercepted and destroyed five ballistic and cruise missiles across three regions within the Kingdom.
A Saudi official noted that the incident caused limited damage, with no casualties reported, and stated that relevant authorities had begun responding to the incident and taking necessary measures.
Shortly after the Saudi Civil Defense announced that the threat had passed over the city of Dammam, the governorates of Al-Ahsa and Al-Baha, and the Najran region, Coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki confirmed today the interception and destruction of five ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as a drone, launched by Houthi militias toward the capital Riyadh and the oil-rich Southern and Eastern regions.
Schools in Riyadh informed parents that students were in “safe and fortified locations” on the first day of in-person classes in the capital, following approximately a month of remote learning.
Kuwait expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the continued terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia on several areas in Saudi Arabia and its attempts to target civilian infrastructure and vital facilities, most recently the launch of two ballistic missiles toward Riyadh. Kuwait described these actions as a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
Kuwait reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its steadfast support for all measures taken to safeguard the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security, and stability, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
Egypt also expressed its strong condemnation and rejection of the heinous attacks on Saudi Arabia and attempts to target its cities and interests, most recently the launch of two ballistic missiles toward Riyadh. Egypt characterized these actions as a blatant violation of international law and the Kingdom’s sovereignty and security, representing an escalatory approach and a direct threat to civilians.
Egypt affirmed its full solidarity and support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures taken to defend its security and sovereignty, protect its citizens, and safeguard its interests.
In Yemen, the Shura Council emphasized the necessity of taking decisive military steps to end the siege imposed on the city of Taiz, through a large-scale land operation based on the readiness of the armed forces, in coordination with various military formations and popular resistance, to force the Houthi militia to retreat and open roads for civilians and humanitarian supplies.
Meanwhile, Army spokesperson Majid Al-Nazili announced yesterday that 875 strikes were carried out against the Houthi militia as part of the “Yemen Dawn” operation over the past hours. He confirmed that these strikes neutralized approximately 130 of its leaders and members, and destroyed or damaged 50 military vehicles and equipment.
