In implementation of the Capital Markets Authority’s initiatives to enhance financial inclusion and investment awareness, the Authority recently conducted several awareness activities in the university educational sector, specifically at the Australian University in Kuwait and the American University in Kuwait.
The Authority’s awareness activities at the Australian University in Kuwait, held between the 2nd and 5th of the current month, included five awareness workshops targeting various student groups, as well as a dedicated awareness booth at the university premises. The booth introduced the Authority, raised awareness about its various activities, and showcased its key awareness outputs.
The workshops provided an overview of the Authority, including the circumstances, rationale, and objectives behind its establishment. They also outlined its vision and specific goals as defined in its founding law, particularly regarding the regulation of securities activities in a manner that ensures fairness, competitiveness, and transparency, while protecting participants in such activities and developing capital markets and their investment instruments. The workshops emphasized alignment with global best practices, as well as public awareness of securities activities, the benefits and risks associated with securities investment, and the promotion of such investment.
The sessions also reviewed the Authority’s key tasks and the competencies of its various departments across regulatory, legislative, supervisory, and awareness-related aspects. This included the nature and objectives of its national initiative to enhance financial inclusion and investment awareness, along with a brief overview of the key achievements in these areas since the Authority’s establishment up to the most recent fiscal year.
Similarly, between the 4th and 5th of the current month, the Authority participated in the “Annual Accounting Day 2026” event organized by the American University in Kuwait. During this participation, an informational booth was set up to introduce the Authority, featuring several awareness outputs displayed on a dedicated electronic screen. These outputs provided an overview of the Authority’s tasks, competencies, and roles in the broader economy, with a particular focus on securities activities.
