The U.S. Secret Service announced the arrest of a suspect and the filing of charges against him after officers located him inside a vehicle near the White House, where he was found in possession of firearms. The service stated that the suspect reported hearing voices in his head ordering him to kill U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security, the arrest took place on Thursday evening after Secret Service officers approached a man “who was acting suspiciously inside a parked car.”
U.S. officials said the suspect, identified as Ronnie Krenus, subsequently spoke of “voices in his head that were instructing him to go to Washington and kill the president.”
Shortly thereafter, officers discovered that the vehicle the suspect was occupying had been reported stolen, and that he was in possession of three different firearms and dozens of rounds of ammunition.
