The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million for information regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
The State Department’s “Rewards for Justice” program issued a statement offering “a reward of up to $20 million, with the possibility of resettlement arrangements, for information about Iran’s nuclear program.”
According to the “Rewards for Justice” statement, “in 2025, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that Iran is enriching uranium to a purity level of up to 60 percent, a level only one technical step away from the 90 percent required to produce a nuclear weapon.”
The statement added: “Iran is the only non-nuclear-armed state producing uranium at such a high level of enrichment. Experts estimate that this quantity, if further enriched, could be sufficient to produce several nuclear weapons.”
It concluded: “Iran’s failure to comply with its IAEA safeguards obligations has resulted in the Agency losing continuity of knowledge regarding the size of Iran’s production and its stockpile of critical components, such as centrifuges.”
