The first senior boxing championship for the 2026-2027 sports season will kick off tomorrow (Saturday), organized by the Boxing Federation at its hall in the Sabah Al-Salem area, and will run until next Wednesday, with participation from players of local clubs.
The tournament is part of a series of competitions organized by the Federation during the current season, marking the fourth since last September, as part of its plan to activate the sport locally, expand the base of participants, and provide players with opportunities to compete and gain experience.
Adel Abdullah, a member of the Boxing Federation’s Board of Directors, emphasized that the board places great importance on organizing championships and providing all the necessary elements for their success, ensuring they are presented in a dignified manner. He noted the commitment to overcoming any obstacles that may arise during the competitions and creating a suitable environment for players to deliver their best performances.
He added that the Federation aims through these tournaments to strengthen competition among club players and enhance their technical levels, thereby supporting the development of Kuwaiti boxing and positively impacting the readiness of national teams to achieve positive results in international competitions.
