The Public Authority for Environment has emphasized the importance of enhancing awareness of climate change issues and consolidating societal responsibility toward the environment, thereby contributing to the development of a generation aware of environmental challenges and capable of participating in addressing them.
In this context, the Authority organized an introductory workshop titled “Climate Change, Its Impacts, and Its Importance,” targeting teachers and educators to enhance environmental awareness and disseminate knowledge about climate change issues and ways to mitigate its repercussions.
The Authority noted that the workshop helped highlight the importance of the role of educational institutions in building environmental awareness among students, and strengthening the role of educational staff in conveying climate concepts and reinforcing positive behaviors that contribute to environmental protection.
On another front, and in the presence of Al-Ahmadi Governor Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber, under the patronage of the Public Authority for Environment and in collaboration with Eco Company, the introductory workshop for the second edition of the “Eco” initiative for recycling electronic waste was held, under the slogan “Private Universities Challenge.” The initiative launched today at the Kuwait Technical College, with participation from several private sector companies.
This step embodies students’ efforts to translate environmental awareness into practical practices, promote the culture of source separation and recycling, and reinforce the concepts of the circular economy, thereby contributing to reducing electronic waste, protecting the environment, and achieving sustainability.
