Minister Al-Muwasharji affirmed Kuwait's solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for Palestinian rights

This came in the statement delivered by the State of Kuwait, presented by Minister Al-Muwasharji during his participation in the 20th meeting of the heads of the Councils of Consultation, Parliament, National Assembly, and Ummah of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held today, Wednesday, via video conferencing technology, in response to an invitation from the Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah Al al-Sheikh.
The Office of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs stated in a press release that Minister Al-Muwasharji emphasized Kuwait’s firm stance condemning the attacks launched by the Houthi militia against the fraternal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the GCC countries.
He underscored the importance of strengthening Gulf solidarity, intensifying coordination and consultation among GCC member states, and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation to preserve the region’s security and stability and prevent it from sliding into further tensions.
He affirmed the necessity of safeguarding the security and freedom of maritime navigation, as well as the integrity of international waterways, and rejecting any aggression or threat targeting commercial vessels or endangering the safety of sea routes, given their strategic importance in ensuring the smooth flow of international trade, energy supplies, and global supply chains.
Al-Muwasharji reiterated Kuwait’s steadfast position supporting the rights of the fraternal Palestinian people and condemning the attacks by Israeli occupation authorities, emphasizing the urgent need for an immediate halt to these attacks, the protection of civilians, and efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace that guarantees the Palestinian people their right to establish their independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In conclusion, Al-Muwasharji expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the meeting, and to the GCC Secretariat General for its continuous efforts in supporting joint Gulf cooperation.
