The Supreme Council for Media Affairs stated that the decision was issued as part of the Council’s role in reinforcing media adherence to professional and ethical standards, safeguarding the sanctity of private life and public morals, and regulating media practices to strike a balance between freedom of opinion and expression and the responsibilities that accompany them. This comes in light of the Council’s decision mandating media institutions, press outlets, and digital platforms subject to the provisions of Law No. 180 of 2018 to refrain from disseminating, making available, or discussing any content related to crises, family disputes, or the personal privacy secrets of all citizens without exception, and to comply with the media codes and standards issued by the Council and the Organization for Media Coverage Regulations in this regard.

The Council also reaffirmed the continued implementation of its decision prohibiting the appearance of the ex-wife of the national team’s head coach on all media outlets subject to the provisions of the Law Regulating Press and Media.

The Council emphasized the necessity for media outlets to comply with its decision banning the dissemination, availability, or discussion of any content related to crises, family disputes, or the personal privacy secrets of all citizens without exception, and confirmed that legal measures stipulated in the sanctions regulations would be taken against any media outlet violating this decision.

The Council clarified that media outlets should serve as a platform for spreading awareness and knowledge, not as a arena for settling personal disputes or exchanging accusations and quarrels, particularly since resolving personal conflicts and cases remains within the jurisdiction of investigative authorities and the judiciary.

The Council pointed out that protecting the stability of the sports system and prioritizing the national interest require providing a suitable environment for the national team’s technical staff to fulfill their responsibilities and focus on preparations for upcoming sporting events, free from any controversies or disputes that do not serve Egyptian sports.
