The Direct Investment Promotion Authority (DIPA) announced that Kuwait attracted new foreign direct investments worth KD 948.04 million during the 2025/2026 fiscal year through 17 investment entities, raising the total cumulative approved investments from 2015 to the end of March 2026 to approximately KD 2.92 billion.
According to the Authority’s annual report, reviewed by Al-Jarida, new investments recorded significant growth during the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, rising to nearly four times their level in the previous fiscal year, reflecting an accelerated pace of attracting foreign capital to the Kuwaiti market.
The new investments during 2025/2026 accounted for approximately 32.5 percent of the total cumulative approved investments from 2015 to March 2026.
In this context, Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of DIPA, emphasized that the fourfold increase in direct investment flows to approximately KD 948 million reflects Kuwait’s openness, competitiveness, and readiness for the future. He noted that the significance of these results extends beyond the volume of attracted capital to include investment quality, knowledge and technology transfer, and the provision of opportunities for Kuwaiti national talent.
The Authority stressed that the impact of licensed investments extends beyond capital inflows to include job creation, human capital development, technology transfer and localization, strengthening the local content, and participation in development projects, thereby supporting the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035.
