Draish: In the Gulf Sea

Qiyas summary
A poem describing the poet's suffering in the Gulf Sea.
Translated by Qiyas from الجريدة — Original source
As soon as the voice ended,
Its echo returned to my courtyards.
I wrote and sent my words,
But my correspondents were lost in vain.
Amidst broadcasting and illusion,
The truth’s mind is accused.
I gained no arrow in my endeavor,
Nor escaped from enmity.
Deceived by false modesty,
Indeed, minds are complicit.
If only they truly understood,
They would not ignore the call’s voice.
This fire that has drawn near,
Oh fear it reaches us!
And what they believe is against us—
Is merely “the news and its subject!”
