Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states accredited to Kuwait held their regular coordination meeting today, chaired by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Salah Al-Maliki, at the Bahraini embassy premises, to discuss ways to enhance joint GCC efforts, exchange views, and coordinate positions on issues and shared interests of member states.

The meeting underscored the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation among GCC states in a manner that serves their common interests and strengthens the trajectory of GCC collaboration. The ambassadors also commended the substantial cooperation extended by Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the facilitations provided to them to carry out their diplomatic duties in Kuwait, all of which contribute to the interests of the GCC states.

Participants in the meeting included the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Kuwait, Matar Al-Nuaimi, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Saudi Ambassador Prince Sultan bin Saad, Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait Ali Al-Shanfari, Qatar’s Ambassador Ali Al-Mahmoud, and Hamad Al-Mari, Assistant Undersecretary for GCC Affairs at Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This meeting was convened in accordance with the ministerial decision issued during the 119th session, and the subsequent ministerial decision from the 138th session, concerning meetings of GCC ambassadors abroad, both of which affirm the importance of GCC ambassadors convening among themselves to coordinate joint efforts.
