In line with its firm commitment to supporting and empowering Kuwaiti youth by helping them acquire the experiences and skills that contribute to shaping their personalities and honing their capabilities, Kuwait Finance House (KFH) is sponsoring the “Off the Grid” initiative. This initiative enables participants to embark on unique field exploration experiences to discover Kuwait’s natural and cultural history, as part of its strategic partnership with the Loyaq Foundation.

The initiative is part of a series of programs aimed at encouraging youth to explore and learn through direct experience. It includes three exploration trips scheduled for October, November, and December, targeting participants aged 14 to 18. The goal is to raise awareness of Kuwait’s history and natural heritage, while developing leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability skills.

These trips will start from the red earth area of Al-Obaid in Sabiya, pass through Jabal Ka’man in Al-Mutlaa, and reach sites of ancient riverbeds in Kuwait. Participants will undertake exploratory tours to discover the unique geological formations found in these locations and to learn about the Ubaid civilization, one of the oldest cultural civilizations associated with the region’s history. This will provide them with a deeper understanding of Kuwait’s environment and natural history.

Participants will also learn about the remnants of ancient waterways that reflect the geological transformations the region has undergone over thousands of years. They will engage in practical and interactive activities that promote concepts of exploration, learning, and teamwork, encouraging them to adopt responsible exploration and environmental conservation practices based on the “Leave No Trace” principles.

Commenting on this, Mohammed Al-Habashi, Senior Manager – Public Relations and Events Management at Kuwait Finance House, said: “We are proud to continue our strategic partnership with Loyaq, which has yielded many high-quality initiatives over the years aimed at empowering youth and broadening their horizons. The ‘Off the Grid’ initiative represents an outstanding model of learning outside traditional frameworks, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore Kuwait’s natural and historical sites and discover its cultural and environmental heritage through rich field experiences that enhance their knowledge and develop their practical and personal skills.”

Al-Habashi added: “The initiative provides youth with a unique opportunity to learn through direct exploration and interaction with their surroundings, helping them acquire leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in real-life situations. These experiences also strengthen their connection to Kuwait’s history and natural heritage, encouraging them to embrace values of responsibility and environmental conservation, which positively impact their personalities and futures.”

He emphasized that commitment to corporate social responsibility is a deeply rooted institutional culture at Kuwait Finance House. From this perspective, the bank will continue to support initiatives aimed at creating a positive and sustainable impact on society. It also looks forward to continuing collaboration with strategic partners across various sectors to launch more programs that contribute to preparing a generation capable of building a brighter future for Kuwait.

Kuwait Finance House is keen on adopting diverse community programs and initiatives focused on youth, education, and sustainable development, leveraging its position as the largest financial institution in Kuwait and one of the leading supporters of social responsibility programs. It continues to work with various civil society organizations to launch high-quality initiatives that leave a tangible, positive, and sustainable impact on society.
