Kuwait and Al-Qurain Face a Tough Battle for the Basketball League Title

The finals of the 2025-2026 basketball league season begin today with two matches held at the Union Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. At 7:30 p.m., Kuwait will face Al-Qurain in the first game of the final series, preceded at 5:15 p.m. by a match between Al-Qadsia and Kazma to determine third and fourth place, kicking off the playoff finals. The series is contested in a best-of-three format, with the team securing two victories claiming the championship title or third place.

Kuwait advanced to the finals after defeating Kazma, while Al-Qadsia was eliminated by Al-Qurain, as both finalists had won two consecutive matches in the semifinals, which were also played under a best-of-three playoff format.

Kuwait enters the opening match aiming to maintain their dominance over the competition’s titles and take the first step toward retaining the championship, relying on their players’ experience, depth, and the readiness gained from their recent participation in the West Asia Championship finals.

On the other side, Al-Qurain is aiming for a historic achievement by winning their first league title since the club’s establishment in 2011, following outstanding performances during the current season that culminated in reaching the final for the first time.
