The Jordanian News Agency (Petra) quoted the King as saying, “A few days ago, the treacherous hand of terrorism reached out to test the resilience of our state and the resolve of our people, but we will be ready to confront it.” He added, speaking about the Karak terrorist attack, “We will not allow the Kharijite terrorists to undermine the security and unity of this nation.”
He affirmed that the perpetrators of the Karak attack “are not among us; they have strayed from our great Jordanian family and betrayed this nation, so they have no place among us, neither today nor tomorrow,” stressing that “the state will confront anyone who attempts to undermine the country’s security, stability, and unity.”
The Jordanian monarch affirmed that “the blood of the Karak martyrs is a trust upon our shoulders,” and called on the National Assembly to observe a minute of silence for the souls of the victims of the terrorist attack in Karak.
