American media personality Tucker Carlson warned that U.S. President Donald Trump might order a nuclear strike against Iran in the coming days, claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is exerting intense pressure on the U.S. administration to pursue this option.

In a post on the platform X, Carlson stated that the Trump administration could be days away from executing a nuclear strike targeting Mount Peak X in central Iran, where Israeli intelligence alleges the Iranian government has restarted its uranium enrichment program.

He added that, in his estimation, conventional U.S. weapons cannot penetrate approximately 300 feet of solid granite to reach the tunnels believed to house enrichment operations, considering nuclear weapons the only military option capable of destroying them—a course he said Netanyahu is strongly pushing for.

Carlson linked the Israeli pressure to Netanyahu’s political situation, stating that the prime minister is struggling to form a government following the recent elections and cannot remain in office without Trump’s intervention with Israeli parties to secure a majority of 61 seats in the Knesset.

He further claimed that Netanyahu needs the war to continue to stay close to Trump, noting that he has pressured his allies within the U.S. administration, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and U.S. Central Command Commander Brad Cooper, whom he said oppose a negotiated settlement and are pushing for the resumption of major military operations.

He noted that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe follow the same approach, and alleged that former U.S. President Barack Obama opposed a peace agreement with Iran being prepared in Doha during a recent meeting.

Carlson warned of widespread economic repercussions from the war, pointing to damage to Gulf economies and global energy and fertilizer markets. He claimed that 11 supertankers suffered serious damage in the Strait of Hormuz alone in October, out of approximately 850 tankers used globally for oil transport.

He also warned that an underground nuclear detonation at Mount Peak X could contaminate the Persian Gulf and poison water sources relied upon by some 100 million people, adding that a U.S. nuclear strike against Iran could set a precedent encouraging other nations to use their own nuclear weapons.

He stated that Russia had informed at least two governments that a U.S. nuclear strike on Iran could provide it with justification to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine, suggesting this might also encourage nuclear escalation between India and Pakistan, or by North Korea against Seoul.

Carlson claimed that the Trump administration has been rewriting U.S. nuclear doctrine since February to facilitate the use of what he described as “battlefield nuclear weapons,” warning that Washington is approaching a highly dangerous moment.

He indicated that Trump might make a decision on using nuclear weapons by the end of next week, but said the U.S. president remains hesitant and is listening to Vice President J.D. Vance and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, who advocate reaching an agreement with Iran.

Carlson concluded that reaching an agreement would not be easy, but noted there is consensus among factions within Iran that continuing the war is not in anyone’s interest, and that pursuing a settlement is worth attempting.
