The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy is bolstering its efforts, through coordination among its various sectors and relevant authorities, to increase its electricity and water production capacities by implementing a package of strategic projects. These include projects proposed through the Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority and those the Ministry intends to execute directly, thereby aligning with the country’s future needs and supporting energy and water security.

In this context, the Ministry is studying available options for the redevelopment of the South Shuaiba and East Doha power and desalination plants. This includes reconstructing them with higher production capacities and leveraging their locations to enhance the electricity and water production system, as part of its plans to upgrade infrastructure and improve production efficiency.

On another front, the Central Tenders Board announced the launch of a tender for the annual maintenance of electrical equipment at the Subayya power and desalination plant, following a request from the Ministry of Electricity.

This tender is part of the routine maintenance works carried out by the Ministry on electrical equipment at energy and water production facilities, aiming to maintain operational efficiency, ensure the continuous functioning of electrical equipment and systems, and minimize technical failures that could affect equipment readiness.

Separately, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced the launch of its awareness campaign for the “Adaa” project, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (“Nazaha”), for a duration of five months. The campaign aims to activate and implement the code of conduct for government entity employees and instill principles of integrity and transparency in the work environment, starting today until the end of March 2027.

The Ministry noted that the campaign is directed at its employees, reflecting its commitment to enhancing awareness of professional values and behavioral guidelines. This contributes to improving institutional performance, developing the work environment, and elevating the level of services provided.

It clarified that the campaign is based on a comprehensive awareness plan that includes media, digital, and field tracks, alongside training programs and workshops. These will be implemented in cooperation and coordination with relevant entities, covering all ministry sectors and its affiliated sites.

The Ministry stated that the campaign aims to solidify a culture of compliance with the code of conduct for government employees among all staff and to strengthen the application of its principles in daily practices. It called on its employees to follow the campaign and review its awareness content by tracking the ministry’s dedicated employee account on Instagram.
