Kuwait’s Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Development, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, announced on Saturday the qualification of 300 Kuwaiti youth in three modern technical specialties, with 100 students per specialty, to support the cooperative sector, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET).
Minister Al-Huwail stated in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the joint cooperation with PAAET has resulted in the enrollment of this new cohort to meet labor market needs, specifying that the specialties are a technical diploma in “Smart Building Systems,” a technical diploma in “Mechatronics,” and a technical diploma in “Sustainability.”
She clarified that this step is part of the ministry’s strategy to enhance the policy of “Kuwaitization” and align educational outcomes with labor market requirements, while also opening new career opportunities for Kuwaiti youth to work in cooperative societies and technical fields.
She emphasized that true investment in Kuwaiti youth begins with qualifying them in the required specialties, affirming the continuation of cooperation with PAAET to develop national competencies and enhance employment opportunities, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of the cooperative sector and achieving sustainability in its operations.
