The General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Jahra Criminal Investigations Department, in cooperation with the General Security Sector, arrested a suspect of Bangladeshi nationality in the case of the murder of a guard at a plot under construction in the Mutala area, in less than 24 hours from the receipt of the report.
Security agencies had received a report on the morning of Friday, October 30, 2026, stating that the body of a guard was found on the roof of the plot.
Investigations led to suspicion falling on a former guard of the plot, whose services had been terminated the day before the incident was discovered. It emerged that he surrendered himself to the East Police Station following an arrest warrant issued against him due to the expiration of his visa, in an attempt to be deported from the country before his connection to the case was uncovered.
Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime following a dispute with the victim, who had replaced him at work, and admitted to assaulting him with a piece of wood and a knife.
