Competitions for the seventh round of the Zain Premier League will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, with two matches. Al-Tadamon will face Al-Sahel at 5:30 p.m. at Al-Tadamon Stadium, while Al-Salmiya will play against Al-Salmiya at 7:45 p.m. at Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium.
Al-Tadamon enters the match under the guidance of national coach Adel Marzouq, who previously served as assistant to Bosnian coach Igor before being dismissed by club president and football department head Mubarak Al-Nazzal due to poor results.
Al-Tadamon sits at the bottom of the league table with zero points, being the only team in the competition to have lost all six of its matches.
Marzouq aims to achieve several objectives, most notably securing his first win and earning three points, relying on the fighting spirit of his players, led by Fahd and Hamad Al-Rashidi and Mohammed Al-Qabandi, as well as regaining the confidence of the board and retaining his position.
On the other hand, Al-Sahel, who sit in tenth place with four points, enter the clash with the ambition of restoring balance after their 3-0 defeat to Al-Nasr in the previous round, in which they delivered one of their worst performances.
Recent training sessions revealed that coach Ali Abdul-Razzaq has adopted a balanced approach between defense and attack, focusing on disrupting Al-Tadamon’s key playmakers in pursuit of a victory.
In the second match, Al-Salmiya, who sit in eleventh place with three points, face sixth-placed Al-Salmiya, who have a match in hand, in a tactical battle between Portuguese coach Antonio Miranda and Bahraini coach Ali Ashour.
Miranda has notably elevated Al-Salmiya’s performance level, delivering a standout display against Al-Arabi that ended in a 3-3 draw, during which his team was the superior side. However, this level of performance has not translated into results, an equation he is striving to solve.
For his part, Ali Ashour enters the match with victory as a primary objective, as Al-Salmiya’s current position does not reflect the resources provided by the board, chaired by Sheikh Turki Al-Yousef, nor the caliber of international players in the squad, including Fawaz Ayed Al-Otaibi, Muath Al-Assem, Mohammed Al-Huwaidi, and Mehdi Dashti. This is especially true given that their 1-0 win over Al-Jahra in the previous round was not convincing.
