In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the media ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries affirmed that the unity of the Gulf bloc is a shared responsibility and a steadfast commitment among the member states, “growing in importance in light of current circumstances to confront challenges and their repercussions.”
During their meeting in Bahrain, the ministers stressed their firm rejection of any actions aimed at undermining the unity of the Gulf bloc or insulting the GCC member states and their symbols. They emphasized the importance of intensifying the monitoring and documentation of violations committed through various media outlets and digital platforms, and of taking all necessary legal measures to hold perpetrators accountable.
The ministers also affirmed that “the particularities of the current stage necessitate concerted efforts to safeguard unity, strengthen fraternal ties among the peoples of the GCC member states, and support all initiatives that enhance their security and stability.”
