'Food Authority': Seizes 3 Non-Compliant Food Establishments in Private Residences; Destroys 282 kg of Spoiled Food

The General Authority for Food and Nutrition conducted inspection campaigns and rounds in several governorates, resulting in the seizure of three food establishments operating within private residences without health licenses, the destruction of 182 kg of meat of unknown origin, and approximately 100 kg of food unfit for human consumption, in addition to closing a confectionery factory for using expired food ingredients in the preparation of sweets and cakes.
The Authority clarified that the seizure of food establishments operating within private residences was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and supporting government entities, with violation reports issued and necessary legal measures taken, paving the way for referring the violators to the Public Prosecution.
An inspection round on food establishments in the Farwaniya Governorate also revealed violations related to the handling of adulterated food and failure to comply with general hygiene requirements, alongside the issuance of two destruction reports and the destruction of 182 kg of meat of unknown origin.
In the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, the Authority closed a confectionery factory for using expired food ingredients in the preparation of sweets and cakes, and destroyed approximately 100 kg of food unfit for human consumption, during an inspection campaign conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
