Body of Royal Family Member Found in Public Park in Monaco

Monaco’s Public Prosecution Service announced on Monday the arrest of a man in connection with the death of Antoine de Massy, a member of the ruling family, whose body was found on Sunday in a public park in the emirate.

The prosecution told Agence France-Presse that the investigation launched to determine the cause of death had been expanded to include the arrest of an individual who appears in video recordings alongside de Massy.

It emphasized that the detainee is at this stage merely a suspect or witness to events whose legal characterization has not yet been determined, and confirmed that the hypothesis of an accidental death remains open.

De Massy, 29, was the grandson of Princess Antoinette, the elder sister of Prince Rainier III, father of Prince Albert II. His body was discovered after his family reported their concern to authorities on Sunday afternoon for not having received any news from him.
