Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East (Boubyan) participated in the welcome week events for students at both the American University in Kuwait (AUK) and the Australian University in Kuwait (AU), coinciding with the launch of the new academic year.
The welcome week at both universities witnessed notable student engagement, with Boubyan representatives keenly welcoming students and participating in various activities. These included offering free coffee from Caribou Coffee and checking on students’ well-being in collaboration with Kuwait Hospital, through conducting health screenings and providing health guidance. These initiatives aimed to create a distinctive welcoming atmosphere for students and encourage them to start the new academic year with a positive spirit, good health, and wellness.
During the events, Boubyan representatives interacted directly with students to introduce them to innovative banking and digital solutions tailored to their needs. The flagship offering is the Youth Account, specifically designed to align with their lifestyle. It provides a flexible and easy banking experience that helps them manage daily expenses, enhances their financial awareness at an early stage, supports their financial independence, and keeps pace with their future aspirations.
On this occasion, Hessa Al-Najjada, Senior Director of Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Boubyan, stated: “Our participation in the welcome week events reflects our commitment to being close to students and engaging with them directly at the beginning of the academic year. We also take pride in our long-standing partnerships with the American University in Kuwait and the Australian University in Kuwait, which underscore Boubyan’s continuous interest in the education sector and its efforts to strengthen its relationship with the youth. At the same time, the collaboration between Boubyan, AUK, and Kuwait Hospital exemplifies true integration among institutions under the umbrella of Kuwait Projects Company Holding (KIPCO), leveraging their expertise and capabilities across various fields to serve students and society.”
Al-Najjada added: “We believe that communicating with youth and listening to their aspirations is an integral part of our approach to designing initiatives and products that align with their needs. Through the Youth Account and our ongoing support for the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign, we strive to provide our young customers with banking solutions that suit their needs, while simultaneously enhancing their financial awareness from an early age. This aligns with the bank’s comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program and its commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards, as well as its alignment with the objectives of Kuwait Vision 2035 in investing in the youth generation and supporting sustainable development.”
As part of its back-to-school activities, Boubyan organized a family event at SKY ZONE in The Avenues Mall, bringing together families before the start of the new academic year. The event featured an entertaining atmosphere with interactive activities, competitions, and cash prizes. Additionally, the bank launched the “Boubyan Rewards” campaign for the back-to-school season, which allowed eligible customers to earn five times the reward points when using their eligible credit cards to purchase school supplies, clothing, and electronics at participating stores.
Boubyan will continue its support for youth and the education sector through its partnerships with academic institutions and its diverse programs in education, skills development, and financial awareness. This reflects its role as an active partner in supporting younger generations and contributing to the development of their capabilities, under its slogan “You Are Our Drive.”
