Al-Jarida has learned that the Ministry of Social Affairs, represented by the Directorate of Charitable Societies and Endowments, has stressed the necessity for the boards of directors of all registered charitable entities to update their data and provide the ministry with the required information as quickly as possible. The ministry warned of the consequences of non-compliance and stated that necessary legal measures would be taken in case of violation of the circulars governing operations.

According to sources within the Ministry of Social Affairs, the relevant director issued an additional circular supplementing Circular No. 647 of 2026, emphasizing the necessity of submitting the required data after it became evident that some charities and endowments failed to meet the deadline set for the 14th of the current month. These entities were granted an additional deadline that expired last Thursday to complete and submit their data to the ministry.

In a related development, the directorate invited charitable societies to participate in a roundtable discussion tomorrow, Monday, in cooperation with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), on the Financial Tracking Service (FTS), under the title “Global Humanitarian Challenges and the Impact of Kuwait’s Contributions.” The event will be held at the Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute.

The directorate clarified in a circular addressed to the societies that the invitation was issued following a letter received by the ministry from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding participation in the roundtable, scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. It noted that participation is limited to one representative from each charity or donor entity, who must be a member of the board of directors, the general manager, the financial officer, or the compliance officer.

In a separate matter, the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, conducted an inspection tour of the Public Relations and Citizen Service Department at the Ministries Complex. During the visit, she reviewed the workflow and efforts undertaken in media and organizational fields, as well as the mechanisms for receiving citizens, following up on their requests, and addressing their comments.

Al-Huwail praised the outstanding efforts made by the department’s employees in highlighting the ministry’s activities and achievements in the media, as well as their effective organization of official events and meetings. She also commended their role in receiving citizens, facilitating their procedures, and handling their inquiries with professionalism and care.

She affirmed that the Public Relations and Citizen Service Department constitutes a primary interface for the ministry and a direct link with society, stressing the importance of promptly responding to citizens’ requests, following up on their cases, and removing obstacles in their path. This reflects the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the quality of services provided. She expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the department’s staff, confirming that field inspections would continue to monitor performance, support national cadres, and motivate them to further contribute and excel in serving citizens.
