Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, following her official visit to Kuwait yesterday, said: “I met with the Emir of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in the presence of the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, to deepen bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on investments, energy, infrastructure, and defense.”
Meloni added in a post on X that during the meeting, “we adopted an action plan outlining strategic priorities and charting the course for developing bilateral cooperation for the period 2027–2030.”
She continued: “We also discussed key regional issues, focusing on maritime security and strengthening relations between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council.”
She noted that, amid the talks, Kuwait recently expressed its readiness to extend the price cap on gasoline and diesel, already implemented by Q8, in order to contain energy costs and protect households and businesses.
