US Warning on Escalating Iranian Plans to Target Americans

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton warned that Iran has “significantly intensified” its efforts to target Americans in the Middle East and beyond.

Clayton stated in a memo sent to Secretary of State Marco Rubio that “we have received intelligence indicating that Iran has markedly increased its efforts to target” Americans, according to a U.S. official.

The memo, first revealed by Axios, noted that “Iranian lethal plots against U.S. citizens have reached advanced stages, both in the Middle East and in other countries.”
