The ministry clarified that the oil spill resulted in odors observed by residents of Sharjah, Ajman, and Umm Al Quwain, and stated that it poses no health concerns or risks to the population.
For its part, the Umm Al Quwain Municipality Department said it continues, in coordination with relevant authorities, its field efforts to contain the effects of the oil spill and mitigate its impact on the marine environment and coastal areas.
The municipality, via its account on the social media platform X, stated that the efforts include monitoring the environmental situation and cordoning off affected areas to limit the spread of pollution, alongside supporting cleanup and remediation operations to help protect marine habitats and natural resources.
