A memo issued on Thursday, which Reuters obtained, indicated that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will require all air travelers from foreign countries to the United States to present a certificate confirming they have not been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo within the 21 days prior to travel, citing Ebola virus risks.
Earlier, the CDC adopted rules barring travelers, including U.S. citizens and nationals, who had been in the Democratic Republic of the Congo within 21 days before departure from boarding commercial flights bound for the United States.
