About two months after the announcement of the Mecca Defense Alliance between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, the “Badr Defense Memorandum of Understanding” was signed yesterday in Doha between Turkey, Qatar, Pakistan, and Indonesia, with the aim of enhancing defense cooperation and military capabilities.
It was noted that “by leveraging the military production capabilities of each country, this initiative will facilitate cooperation and integration, strengthen defense industrial capacities, and enable meeting the needs of allied and friendly nations.”
The ministry stated that the Badr Memorandum of Understanding will develop relations among the four countries in the defense industry sector and enhance multilateral cooperation, thereby supporting security and stability and helping to achieve common objectives. It clarified that “Badr” means the full moon, apparently referring to the defense integration among these countries.
