Kuwait Telecommunications Company (stc) concluded its platinum sponsorship and main participation in the “Wadhti” exhibition, Kuwait’s largest national job fair, and the “Kuwait Cybersecurity League” hackathon, driven by its commitment to empowering youth, supporting the community, and strengthening its efforts to attract Kuwaiti talent.

Ahmed Al-Murad, Chief Executive Officer of the Business Excellence Sector, led the stc delegation at the opening and joined officials on a guided tour of the exhibition, where they reviewed participating companies and opportunities available to job seekers.

Under stc’s platinum sponsorship aimed at empowering youth and developing their digital skills, the Kuwait Cybersecurity League 2026 competitions launched, featuring strong competition among Kuwaiti universities. The event, a national Capture The Flag (CTF) hackathon, brought together top university students to challenge their skills in ethical hacking and digital defense.

As part of its role as a main sponsor, Kuwait Telecommunications Company supported the Kuwait Cybersecurity League, held on October 16 at the Grand Hyatt Kuwait hotel. During the hackathon, participating teams tackled technical challenges including website security, digital forensics, network security, and reverse engineering. The competition provided them with an opportunity to apply their knowledge, solve complex problems, and demonstrate the technical skills needed to address evolving cybersecurity threats.

In the presence of Dr. Al-Jalahma, Manal Al-Muaddam, Deputy Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Authority, and the National Cybersecurity Center, Kuwait Telecommunications Company presented several awards to recognize the efforts and outstanding performance of the teams participating in the hackathon. This support enabled the company to engage with young people developing specialized technical skills, complementing its participation in the job fair. It also highlighted the growing importance of cybersecurity expertise in Kuwait and the need to encourage emerging talents to continue acquiring knowledge and practical experience in this field.

Commenting on stc’s participation, Al-Murad said: “The Wadhti exhibition allows us to meet Kuwaiti talents directly and listen to their career aspirations regarding their future employers. The strong turnout this year demonstrates the importance of open communication between youth and companies, and their clearer understanding of available career paths. These dialogues also help stc identify the talents and competencies we need as the company continues to grow and support Kuwait’s digital transformation.”

He added: “Regarding our support for the third Kuwait Cybersecurity League, it allowed us to connect with young talents who are already developing specialized technical capabilities. Their performance during the hackathon showcased the knowledge and skills present in Kuwait’s tech community. Therefore, we will continue to support initiatives that bridge national talents with the private sector and help young people gain the practical experience they need to confidently contribute to strengthening Kuwait’s future workforce.”

stc’s sponsorship of the “Wadhti” event for the fourth consecutive year is part of its broader commitment to supporting national talents and improving employment opportunities in the private sector. This participation aligns with its corporate social responsibility framework, which places special emphasis on education and youth empowerment. Through its involvement in the job fair and the hackathon competition, stc has continued to support the development of local capabilities and the preparation of skilled personnel capable of contributing to Kuwait’s technological advancement.
