Qatar stressed on Tuesday the need for Iran to halt its irresponsible attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that “all countries in the region would suffer if internet services were cut, including Iran.”

Al Jazeera news channel quoted a spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs as saying at a press conference today that “the resolution of the crisis between the United States and Iran must be peaceful, and the sooner we reach a solution, the better,” calling on the Iranian side to implement international laws concerning freedom of navigation and to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.

The spokesperson emphasized the necessity for Iran to stop its irresponsible attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, which harm the region and its peoples, pointing out that the security of the Strait of Hormuz is an integral part of the security of the countries in the region.

He also affirmed that a peaceful solution through negotiations is the only means to safeguard the security and stability of the region, noting that “efforts to resolve the crisis between the United States and Iran are ongoing and uninterrupted, and we are working tirelessly to de-escalate tensions.”
