The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued two decisions banning the importation of all types of poultry meat—fresh, chilled, frozen, and processed—as well as their derivatives and live birds, from three U.S. states and one French region, due to an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza.
According to the two decisions, published in the official gazette “Kuwait Al-Yaum,” the ban covers the U.S. states of Kansas, South Dakota, and Idaho, and the French region of Maine-et-Loire, based on recommendations issued by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition on October 5.
