Reaffirming its steadfast commitment to investing in national talent and supporting the development of Kuwait’s workforce, Boubyan Bank concluded its participation in the fifth edition of Wazifati, one of Kuwait’s leading job fairs, held at the Arena Hall in the 360 Complex.
This participation provided the Bank with an opportunity to engage directly with ambitious Kuwaiti professionals, introducing them to the diverse career opportunities it offers, while highlighting its employees, corporate values, and work culture that continue to contribute to its success.
The Bank’s participation aligns with its comprehensive strategy for investing in human capital, which places employee development, empowerment, and long-term professional growth at the core of its approach to achieving sustainable success.
During the event, the Bank’s Human Resources team interacted directly with potential candidates, discussing their career aspirations, outlining available career paths across various departments and banking sectors, and highlighting the learning and development opportunities provided to employees.
On this occasion, Nabeel Amin, Group Human Resources Director at the Bank, stated: “At Boubyan Bank, we believe that investing in human capital is a fundamental pillar for building a stronger, more innovative, and sustainable institution. Our participation in the Wazifati fair embodies this belief and reflects our ongoing commitment to attracting, developing, and empowering the next generation of Kuwaiti talent. Our priorities extend beyond merely attracting talent; we are equally dedicated to providing a work environment where employees feel supported and motivated, equipped with the tools and opportunities needed to realize their full potential.”
He added: “Our employees are the driving force behind our continuous progress. By fostering a corporate culture rooted in responsibility, transparency, teamwork, and passion, and by investing in continuous learning and professional development, we strive to offer meaningful career paths that contribute to achieving national objectives for human capital development and supporting Kuwait Vision 2035.”
In a move that added a creative dimension to the Bank’s participation this year, Boubyan Bank launched a special publication titled “Blue Pages from Boubyan.” This innovative booklet was designed to give fair visitors an interactive glimpse into professional life within the Bank. Inspired by the concept of traditional phone directories, the publication showcases Boubyan Bank’s work culture through employee stories, insights into the work environment, career benefits, and other topics that realistically reflect the employee experience. The publication was distributed to visitors at the Bank’s booth, serving as an innovative way to introduce potential candidates to Boubyan Bank while transcending traditional recruitment conversations.
Over the course of the fair, the Bank’s talent acquisition team met with numerous candidates from various academic and professional backgrounds. They discussed available career opportunities and identified promising talents for potential recruitment. These interactions provided an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of candidates’ ambitions and capabilities, while also showcasing the diversity of career paths available in the banking and financial sectors.
For his part, Abdulwahab Abdulrahim, Talent Acquisition Executive at Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan), said: “Job fairs, such as the ‘Wazifati’ (My Job) fair, represent an important platform that enables us to engage in direct communication with promising talents and better understand their professional aspirations. At Bourkan, we seek individuals who possess fresh insights and ideas, curiosity, and a desire to learn and grow. Equally important, we make it a point to assure candidates that joining Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan) means becoming part of an institution that values their contributions and supports their professional development.”
Abdulwahab added: “This year, we were keen to make the candidate engagement experience more interactive and closer to them. Through initiatives such as Bourkan’s Blue Pages, we provide potential employees with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, opportunities, and people that shape the bank’s work culture, helping them envision the possibilities available to build a successful career with us.”
Bourkan continues to strengthen its position as one of Kuwait’s preferred employers through its ongoing investments in talent acquisition, professional development, employee engagement, and the provision of a state-of-the-art work environment. As the first bank in Kuwait to receive the “Great Place to Work®” certification in 2023, the bank continues to pursue its employee-centric approach through initiatives aimed at supporting professional growth, fostering collaboration among staff, and reinforcing employees’ sense of belonging to the institution.
During the fair, the Bank of Kuwait (Bourkan) team also highlighted the “Let’s Be Aware” financial awareness campaign, launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with the Kuwait Banks Association and supported by local banks. The team shared awareness messages with visitors on safe banking practices and ways to protect themselves from financial fraud attempts. These efforts align with the bank’s ongoing commitment to enhancing financial literacy and raising banking awareness among various segments of society.
Bourkan’s participation in the “Wazifati” fair falls within its commitment to supporting Kuwaitization and developing national capabilities. Through its consistent presence at major job fairs and professional events, the bank seeks to bridge the gap between emerging talents and experienced professionals on one hand, and available career opportunities on the other, contributing to the preparation of qualified national cadres equipped with the skills and competencies needed to meet future demands.
