Aden’s security authorities announced on Friday that two rockets struck the grounds of Aden International Airport in southern Yemen, accusing the Houthi group of firing them. The incident marks the second of its kind in less than two weeks.
In a statement, the security administration said initial reports indicated no casualties, adding that relevant authorities were continuing necessary procedures and would release further details once completed.
The administration warned that repeated incidents within the airport premises pose a threat to the safety of civilian infrastructure and air traffic, especially given the operation of flights to and from several countries and the presence of passengers in departure and arrival halls.
For its part, the Yemeni news agency Saba, in its Houthi-aligned version, quoted an unnamed military source as saying that an attack targeted the headquarters of Saudi-led coalition forces, referring to the government-aligned forces, at the Badr Camp in Aden Governorate, as well as weapons storage facilities within the camp.
