The Egyptian Consular Mission in Kuwait highlighted the benefits of the Personal Accident Insurance policy for Egyptians working abroad, which includes compensation for unfair dismissal and permanent total disability resulting from an accident, as well as coverage for the costs of transporting or burying the deceased abroad in the event of death, for an annual premium of 400 Egyptian pounds.
In this context, the Head of the Consular Mission, Sherif Badr, held a meeting with officials from the company responsible for implementing the policy, which was first launched during the Sixth Conference of Egyptians Abroad in August 2025.
This initiative comes as part of expanding insurance coverage for Egyptian citizens abroad, following the signing of a cooperation protocol by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Egyptians Abroad, and the Financial Regulatory Authority during the Seventh Conference of Egyptians Abroad, held in August 2026, with the aim of enhancing the benefits provided to policyholders.
According to details announced by the Mission, workers are entitled to compensation of 100,000 Egyptian pounds if unfair dismissal is proven, along with termination of their employment contract and deportation for reasons beyond their control. In cases of permanent total disability resulting from an accident, the compensation amount reaches 250,000 Egyptian pounds.
In the event of death, the policy covers the actual costs of transporting the deceased’s body to Egypt or burying them abroad, with coverage not exceeding 250,000 Egyptian pounds.
Interested individuals can subscribe to the policy for an annual fee of 400 Egyptian pounds through the Egyptian Travel Insurance Company’s website at epti-egypt.org or via its mobile application, EPTI Egypt.
The Consular Mission has urged Egyptian citizens residing in Kuwait to review the general terms attached to the announcement to learn about the details of insurance coverage and the conditions under which subscribers are eligible to benefit.
