Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST) recently launched the activities of the Third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Green Energy (IEEE ICAIGE’26), under the patronage of Dr. Jassem Al-Ali, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Private Universities Council. The current edition of the conference runs concurrently with the Third Smart, Sustainable, and Secure Internet of Things Forum (S4IoT’26), as part of a scientific event that will continue until tomorrow, the 15th, at the college’s headquarters.

In a press statement, the college noted that this year’s edition received 120 research papers submitted by 30 countries, reflecting international interest in the event’s topics and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise among researchers in the fields of smart technologies and sustainable energy.

For his part, Dr. Al-Ali emphasized that the conference constitutes an advanced scientific platform reflecting the rapid developments in the fields of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and sustainable energy, as well as the opportunities and challenges they entail, which call for strengthening scientific research and integration among academic institutions and technical and professional sectors.

Al-Ali pointed out that the Secretariat places great importance on supporting scientific initiatives and conferences that contribute to the development of the higher education system, enhancing its outputs, and strengthening the research and innovation environment. He added that it encourages private higher education institutions to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements and to build partnerships that facilitate knowledge transfer and expertise exchange.

He further stated that this direction aligns with the Secretariat’s commitment to supporting higher education institutions and enhancing their capacity to prepare qualified cadres capable of meeting future requirements, thereby contributing to consolidating the knowledge economy and supporting development pathways in the State of Kuwait.

On his part, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Baqain, President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology, said that the college has been keen since its inception to organize and host international scientific and research conferences, believing in the importance of the role of scientific research in learning, motivating students, and keeping them informed about the latest scientific developments.

Al-Baqain explained that organizing the Smart, Sustainable, and Secure Internet of Things Conference alongside the Artificial Intelligence and Green Energy Conference is a continuation of these efforts, highlighting the importance of these conferences as many of the topics to be discussed lie at the heart of scientific and economic progress in the world and the region.

He noted that these conferences serve as fundamental pillars for many future projects, including smart and sustainable cities and intelligent transportation systems, and also contribute to enhancing productive and manufacturing efficiency in the future, which aligns with Kuwait’s aspirations to become a distinguished technology hub in line with Kuwait Vision 2035.

Al-Baqain pointed out that the scientific program focuses on four main axes: artificial intelligence and its applications; renewable energy, distributed generation, and smart grids; digital transformation in the field of green energy; and fault diagnosis and techniques for maintaining operation during faults in renewable energy systems and electric vehicles.

He added that the program includes two specialized scientific workshops. The first addresses the application of artificial intelligence in the Internet of Energy and smart energy routing within networks, while the second focuses on the use of interpretable artificial intelligence in predicting sustainable energy production, thereby linking research topics to their practical applications.

He emphasized that what distinguishes these conferences is that all accepted research papers, after the peer-review process, will be published in IEEE Xplore, one of the most prominent international scientific publishing platforms of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
