Official sources told Al-Jarida that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry is moving to introduce new commercial activities, alongside developing and refining existing ones. The ministry noted that these measures will follow a mechanism aimed at developing the market, enhancing corporate operations, and triggering an organizational shift to meet market needs and the business environment.

The sources added that the Ministry of Commerce has formulated a plan to modify certain sectors in line with modern economic standards. It will also work on adjusting commercial activity classifications to align with modern standards and economic development requirements. The introduction of new activities is a response to the needs and requirements of companies, ensuring compliance with regulatory conditions.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Commerce has introduced several new activities in recent months, including artificial intelligence services and solutions among the state’s approved commercial activities, as well as relaxation and body care centers for men and similar centers for women. Other newly introduced activities include shisha-serving restaurants, the sale and delivery of consumer goods by sea, marine taxi services, floating recreational activities, advertising display services in marine areas, floating marine repair and maintenance services, marine training and exercises, and the manufacturing of motorized shading systems made of aluminum and tensioned fabrics.

Additionally, the ministry introduced two new commercial activities related to electric vehicle charging stations and chargers: the first pertains to the operation and management of electric vehicle charging stations, while the second covers the sale, installation, and maintenance of electric vehicle charging devices and equipment.

Last year, the Ministry of Commerce introduced ten new activities, in addition to improving the market environment and enhancing the efficiency of economic activities. Commercial activity titles were also revised to regulate operations under the new nomenclature.
