Al-Wasm season begins next Thursday.. Gradual moderation in temperatures

The Al-Ajiri Scientific Center announced the approach of the Wasm season in Kuwait and the region, beginning on Thursday, October 15, 2026, marking the start of a transitional period characterized by mild daytime weather and cooler nights, typically associated with rainfall.

In a press statement, the center said that the Wasm season lasts for 52 days, divided into four astronomical mansions, each lasting 13 days: Al-Awda, Al-Simak, Al-Ghufrān, and Al-Zubānā.

It added that one of the season’s key features is the sun’s continued shift toward the south and the decreasing angle of its rays, which reduces heating hours during the day and paves the way for a gradual moderation in temperatures.

The center clarified that the season’s onset, with the mansion of Al-Awda, is marked by mild daytime weather and cool nights, alongside shorter days and longer nights, with sunrise occurring later and sunset earlier, as well as the continued migration of birds.

It noted that the Wasm season is associated with rainfall that promotes the germination of wild plants and revitalizes vegetation cover, and it is also considered a season linked to the emergence of truffles (fugh), depending on prevailing rainfall conditions.
